| Jammu police organizes Thana Diwas to raise awareness on New Criminal Laws | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 3: Jammu Police, in a proactive step towards community engagement and crime prevention, organised a Thana Diwas in Police Station Channi Himmat today. The Thana Diwas saw the participation of members of Chambers of Commerce,civil society, and councillors of the area. The function was presided over by SP South Jammu, along with SDPO East, SHO Channi Himmat and ICPP Sainik colony.
The primary focus of the event was to familiarise the local populace about the provisions of New Criminal Laws bringing out the differences between new criminal laws and the repealed Laws Dysp( P) Nadia Farooq delivered a comprehensive lecture highlighting the citizen centric provisions enabled in the New Criminal Laws.
The Occasion was abily utilised to sensitise the growing concerns of drug abuse, cybercrime, social crimes and also District Magistrate order of the installation of CCTV Cameras and tenant verifications.
There was also threadbare discussion on how to improve public participation in reducing normal violations of law and heinous offences.
