Agencies NEW DELHI, Mar 10: A team from the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), Jammu Division, actively participated in the 14th National Conference of the Indian Association of Epidemiologists (IAE), held in New Delhi from March 7-8, 2025. The prestigious event, organized in collaboration with the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), focused on the theme "Epidemiology in Public Health for Viksit Bharat 2047." Under the guidance of Mr. Nazim Zai Khan (IAS), Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), J&K, and Dr. Rakesh Magotra, Director Health Services Jammu, with the support of Dr. Harjeet Rai, State Surveillance Officer, IDSP Jammu Division, the following epidemiologists from Jammu Division represented the region at the conference: Dr. Simran Nag, State Epidemiologist, IDSP Jammu Division Mr. Umar Anayat, District Epidemiologist, IDSP Doda Dr. Sonia Bajaj, District Epidemiologist, IDSP Samba The team made significant contributions to the conference through research presentations, including: Oral Presentation: Epidemiological Investigation of Chickenpox Outbreak in Village Ghata, District Doda - A comprehensive study on outbreak dynamics and response strategies. E-Poster Presentations: Integrating Human and Animal Health Data for Action in Samba District, 2024 - Highlighting the One Health approach for zoonotic disease surveillance. Unraveling Cholera Outbreaks in Three Districts of Jammu Division - An in-depth epidemiological study on cholera outbreaks in Udhampur, Reasi, and Ramban, emphasizing interventions for sustainable public health, safe water access, and community resilience. The participation of IDSP Jammu Division's State and District Surveillance Units at this national forum underscores Jammu & Kashmir's commitment to strengthening disease surveillance and public health preparedness.
