Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 11: As part of the ongoing celebrations for International Women's Day 2025, the NSS Unit and Cultural Committee of Government Degree College (GDC) Sidhra successfully conducted a massive cleanliness drive under the Health Awareness Programme. The initiative, held on the college campus, aimed to instill cleanliness as a natural habit and core societal value, aligning with this year's theme, 'Accelerate Action'. The event saw enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers, faculty members, and students, all joining hands to promote hygiene, environmental awareness, and social responsibility within the college and local community. Addressing the participants, Dr. G.S. Rakwal, Principal of GDC Sidhra, highlighted the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in daily life. He praised the efforts of the NSS volunteers, stating, "Cleanliness is not just a responsibility but a habit that we must cultivate. I am proud of our NSS volunteers for taking this noble step towards a cleaner and healthier environment." The event was successfully organized under the guidance of Dr. Purvaiya Hans, NSS Program Officer, and Dr. Meesha Bhagat, Convenor of the Cultural Committee. Faculty members including Dr. Harpreet Kour, Dr. Mussarat Chowdhary, Prof. Shonima Malhotra, Dr. Anu Sharma, Dr. Pooja Sharma, and Mr. Deepak Kumar were also present, extending their support to the cause. This initiative is part of a series of events being conducted at GDC Sidhra from March 8 to March 12, 2025, reinforcing the significance of cleanliness, health awareness, and community service in celebration of International Women's Day. |
