Early Times Report VIJAYPUR, Mar 29: Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur organized an expert lecture on "Empowering Inclusion: Promoting Education, Rights & Welfare of Persons with Disabilities" under the supervision of Dr. Ashu Vashisht, Principal of the college. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal, Lecturer, Department of Education, who emphasized the challenges faced by persons with disabilities due to societal biases and stigmatization. The keynote speaker, Monika, a social activist and Vice President of JIGER Institute of Humanity Welfare Organization (NGO), was honored by Dr. Ashu Vashisht. In her address, Monika highlighted the importance of inclusive education in ensuring equitable access and support for students of all abilities. She stressed that inclusion fosters diversity, reduces stigma, and promotes confidence among learners, enabling them to thrive in diverse communities. A question-answer session followed, where Ms. Monika addressed participants' queries. The program was organized by Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal and co-coordinated by Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce), Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat (HOD Sociology), Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Dogri), Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (HOD English), and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography).
