Early Times Report SAMBA, Mar 29: In a continued effort to combat drug abuse, Samba Police organized anti-drug awareness programs at six educational institutions, including schools and a college, to educate students about the dangers of substance abuse. The awareness sessions were held at Govt. Polytechnic College Samba, Govt. Hr. Sec. School Rajpura, Govt. Boys Hr. Sec. School Samba, Govt. Middle School Chak Manga Rakwal, Govt. Primary School Parthari Channi Mansar, and Govt. Middle School Budwani, witnessing participation from a large number of students, teachers, and staff members. At GHSS Rajpura, the event was conducted under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) and presided over by DySP Hqrs Samba, accompanied by SHO PS Ghagwal and Incharge PP Rajpura. Students from Modern Sharma Hr. Sec. School, Shri Narsingh Vidya Peeth Hr. Sec. School, and World Model Hr. Sec. School also participated. Cash rewards were given to the best performers, with prizes of ?10,000, ?8,000, and ?6,000 for the top three students, while seven others received consolation prizes of ?2,000 each. As part of CAP, J&K Police also donated 25 school kits, including bags and stationery items, to students from schools under the jurisdiction of PS Samba. The initiative was widely appreciated by school management and attendees, reinforcing Samba Police's commitment to raising awareness and guiding students toward a drug-free future. |
