Siddharthanagar, Apr 4: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Guru Gorakshanath Gyansthali in Dumariyaganj, Siddharthnagar, on Friday, amidst Vedic chanting. During the event, he emphasized that this sacred land symbolizes compassion and friendship for the world, stating, "History is witness that India never ruled by the power of the sword."
Referring to the auspicious occasion of Saptami Tithi during Vasantik Navratri, dedicated to Mahakali, the Chief Minister highlighted the essence of the Sanatan tradition, which begins with the prayer "Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya." Congratulating everyone on the inauguration of the Guru Gorakhnath Gyansthali, he stated that India’s tradition has always revered knowledge. Quoting the mantra "Aano Bhadra Kratavo Yantu Vishvatah," he stressed that embracing the flow of knowledge from all directions is essential for progress, urging the enlightened and powerful members of society to be ready for this flow.
The Chief Minister reflected on his long-awaited visit to the region and recalled the state of affairs in 2008, describing a period marked by anarchy and insecurity. "At that time, daughters and businesses were unsafe, and development and education were not on the agenda of the previous governments. However, in the last 10 years, India has experienced a remarkable transformation," he noted. He further emphasized that India, once grappling with an identity crisis, has now emerged as "Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat."
CM Yogi also underscored that India is no longer a follower of the world. "India has become the fifth-largest economy and will soon be the third-largest economic superpower," he remarked. He stated that the new India is asserting its strength and unity, sending a powerful message to the world: "No matter how powerful India becomes in terms of strength, intelligence, or grandeur, it will never impose its dominance on anyone nor will it accept anyone's dominance."
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted that India is undergoing a transformative phase in all sectors. He emphasized that the key to a prosperous life lies in better coordination between heritage and development. Referring to the end of 500 years of oppression in Ayodhya and the construction of a grand Ram Mandir at Ram Janmabhoomi, CM Yogi stated that when a nation takes pride in its heritage, over 66 crore devotees in the Maha Kumbh present the strength of Sanatan Dharma to the world.
The Chief Minister underscored the peaceful nature of India's traditions, asserting that history shows India never ruled through the power of the sword. He cited Lord Rama’s conquest of Lanka in search of Mata Sita, where Rama handed over the kingdom to Vibhishan, saying that no matter how golden Lanka was, nothing was more valuable than the birthplace and mother. Similarly, in Kishkindha, Shri Ram killed Bali, crowned Sugriva, and brought happiness to the sages in Dandakaranya.
CM Yogi also referred to the historical significance of Siddharthnagar, where Prince Siddhartha spent his childhood. After attaining enlightenment, he became Gautam Buddha. He pointed out that Buddhism spread globally not through force, but through compassion and friendship.
Reflecting on the pre-2014 era, the Chief Minister recalled how some people dismissed Ram and Krishna as myths and saw it as their right to insult Indian traditions. However, he praised PM Modi's leadership since 2014 for taking India to new heights by blending heritage with development. He cited the rejuvenation of religious sites like the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, Mathura-Vrindavan, and Prayagraj as evidence of this progress.
