Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Apr 5: A three-day training course on "Developing Effective Communication Skills, Behavior, Attitude, and Responsibility towards the General Public" concluded today at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), having commenced on April 3. The course witnessed active participation from 24 officers and officials of the Jammu & Kashmir Police. The program focused on enhancing emotional intelligence, self-awareness, communication, time and stress management, adaptability to organizational change, and the importance of professional ethics in policing. Special attention was given to the role of media in fostering police-public relations and the development of soft skills essential for law enforcement personnel. The valedictory function was graced by Shri Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, SSP, and Dy. Director (Indoor Training), who served as the chief guest. In his address, Shri Gupta emphasized that the skills learned during the course are crucial not only for effective policing but also for building a more empathetic and connected society. He encouraged the participants to practice these skills in their daily lives, turning them into habits that promote positive change and responsible public service. Gupta underlined the transformative power of communication and urged officers to become ambassadors of trust and harmony in their interactions with the public. The course featured sessions by eminent academicians including Swati Basotra (Visiting Faculty, IIT Jammu), Dr. Rashi Taggar and Dr. Shazia Bhukhari (Assistant Professors, SMVDU Katra), Dr. Karan Nathwani (Assistant Professor, IIT Jammu), and Dr. Ankita Choudhary (Child Psychologist, University of Jammu), who shared deep insights into human behavior, communication, and emotional intelligence.
