Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 6: In a continued effort to combat vehicle thefts, Jammu Police recovered a stolen scooty and motorcycle in the Akhnoor area, leading to the arrest of one accused. The operation was led by Inspector Rohit Gandhi, SHO Police Station Akhnoor. The investigation began after Rahul Kumar, son of Randev Kumar, a resident of Pull Chandian, Tehsil Akhnoor, lodged a complaint regarding the theft of his scooty. Acting promptly, Police Station Akhnoor registered FIR No. 59/2025 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). During the probe, police detained a suspect identified as Sabba Masih, son of Nayamat Singh, originally from Tarn Taran, Amritsar (Punjab) and currently residing in Nai Basti, Pargwal, Akhnoor. Upon sustained questioning, the accused confessed to the theft. Based on his disclosure, the stolen scooty was recovered. Additionally, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CJ5403 was also seized under Section 106 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Further investigation is ongoing to determine if the accused is linked to other similar thefts in the region. |
