JAMMU, Apr 6: Kashyap Samaj Commemorated Birth Anniversary of their Saint "Maharishi Kashyap" at Vivekanand Chowk Jammu East.The program was hosted & organised by Adv.Suresh Dogra,the large no.of people belong to the same community were gathered there.
Addressing a Large gathering during the Program Adv. Suresh Dogra said that Our Community always in brotherhood & strong relationship with each other, this community is very innocent & always remained socially, educationally & political deprived, Adv. Suresh further said that He is commited & Convicted that he will take the community to the peak in all walks of life, on behalf of the Community He also demanded a holiday on the birth anniversary of their Saint "Maharishi Kashyap" Dogra emphasised that there are many states of the Country who are enjoying restricted holidays on this occasion like Haryana & Utterpradesh & on the same pattern,we also holiday in J&K also. It was also highlighted that the name Kashyap was also originated by the name of Kashyap Rishi & due to this big connection,our State (UT) deserves a holiday on the Jayanti of Maharishi Kashyap i.e.5th of April every year.
Adv.Suresh Dogra also demands to the present regime that A chunk of land must be alloted to this community to form a statue & where worship could be possible for this backward Community which is more than 6 lakh in number existing in Jammu & Kashmir & these Community people are also known as Khewat,Nishad,Jheewar & Kashyap.
Brij Mehra also spoke on the occasion,he emphasised on the Bio- graphy of Saint of the Community "Maharishi Kashyap".He also emphasised on his origin,his connectivity with the Kashyap Samaj. He said that these sort of programs are for the awareness of the Community and it's upliftment should be oraganised no.of times in a Year.
