Vijaypur, Apr 8: As part of the ongoing celebrations of B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti, the Department of English in collaboration with the NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College Vijaypur organized a special lecture on the theme “B. R. Ambedkar: The Architect of Indian Constitution.” The event was held under the able guidance of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Ashu Vashist. The program commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal, Lecturer, Department of Education. The keynote lecture was delivered by Dr. Indu Koul, Lecturer, Department of English, who provided an insightful overview of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s monumental contributions to the Indian Constitution. She emphasized Ambedkar’s relentless efforts in drafting a constitution that ensured equality and justice for all, irrespective of caste, race, religion, or culture. She also highlighted his advocacy for education, social reform, and the rights of marginalized communities, including access to public resources and religious spaces. NSS volunteers attended the event with great enthusiasm, reflecting their deep respect for the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar. The event received full support from senior faculty members including Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce), Dr. Anoop Kumar Bhagat (HOD Sociology), Dr. Arti Sharma and Dr. Manoj Heer (HODs Environmental Sciences). The program was successfully coordinated by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (HOD English) and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography), and co-coordinated by Dr. Gunjeet Mahiwal and Dr. Indu Koul. |
