Jammu Police, South Zone, Cracks Down on Illegal Mining and Traffic Violations under “Operation Ploughing” | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 8: In a continued effort to combat illegal mining and traffic violations, Jammu Police, South Zone, intensified its operations under the ongoing campaign “Operation Ploughing,” yielding significant results across its jurisdiction. In separate actions: Police Post Belicharana seized one dumper carrying stone material operating without valid permission. The District Mineral Officer (DMO) was promptly informed for further legal action. Police Post Greater Kailash detained another dumper transporting mining material without the mandatory Form A. The matter was also reported to the Mining Department for necessary proceedings. Apart from illegal mining, multiple enforcement and preventive measures were executed to maintain law and order and ensure road safety: P/S Bagh-e-Bahu: 02 preventive actions initiated against individuals to preempt disturbances. P/S Channi: 01 preventive measure carried out. PP Narwal: 02 vehicles challaned under the Motor Vehicles Act. PP Gadigarh: 01 motorcycle seized for MV Act violations. PP Chatha: 04 vehicles penalized for various traffic offenses. PP Digiana: 03 vehicles challaned under MV Act provisions. These actions were executed under the close supervision of SSP Jammu, SP City South, and respective SDPOs, reflecting the department’s consistent field presence and commitment to public safety. The visible enforcement drive has received widespread appreciation from the public, reinforcing confidence in Jammu Police’s determination to uphold environmental, civic, and legal standards. |
