Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 8: A Monthly Cross-Functional Team Meeting of the Ministry of Labour & Employment, covering UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, was held at the EPFO Regional Office, Railway Road Jammu, chaired by Shri Rizwan Uddin, RPFC-I. The meeting also marked the formal welcome of Shri Sumeet Singh, newly appointed RPFC-I, RO Jammu. The meeting witnessed participation from: Dushyant Pande, Deputy Director, ESIC, RO Jammu Dr. Pankaj Rastogi, Regional Director (IC), DTNBWED, RO Jammu Key Highlights: Review of Activities: General departmental activities of the past month were shared, as Shri Rizwan Uddin is currently in the process of transfer. Focus on Government Circulars: Discussion centered on the "Handbook of Convergence: Ministry of Labour and Employment" to enhance inter-departmental collaboration. Joint Enquiries and Compliance: Coordination between EPFO and ESIC was emphasized, particularly for establishments like M/s Unique Sanitation and Outsourcing Services. EPFO, with the help of principal employers like IIIM and SFC, ensured partial PF compliance. ESIC promised to share inspection insights in the next meeting. Joint Training Programs: RD, DTNBWED elaborated on available training for formal and informal workers. EPFO and ESIC discussed training needs for both regular and contractual staff and will follow up once lists are shared. BMS Delegation Visit: Representatives from BMS J&K, including Ashok Choudhary, Harbans Choudhary, Mukesh Kumar, Ramesh Malhotra, and Subash Chander, visited the office to felicitate Rizwan Uddin on his farewell and extend best wishes. Rizwan Uddin reflected on his enriching association with EPFO, ESIC, and DTNBWED, highlighting their significance-especially ESIC Dispensaries in Srinagar and the Hospital in Jammu for worker welfare in the region. In his remarks, Sumeet Singh, the new RPFC-I, shared his vision to enhance citizen-centric services, boost transparency, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and build a culture of innovation and accountability. Rizwan Uddin urged all departments to support the new leadership for the continued progress of the region. |
