Early Times Report RAJOURI, Apr 8: In its continued efforts to promote health, hygiene, and sanitation in remote areas, the Indian Army organized a "Swachhta Abhiyan for Healthy Life" at Naili village and adjoining areas in Rajouri district. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about personal hygiene, disease prevention, and the importance of a balanced lifestyle among the local populace. As part of the campaign, an interactive awareness lecture was delivered to educate villagers-especially children and youth-on preventive healthcare, identifying symptoms of common diseases, and the role of hygiene in leading a healthy life. Emphasis was also laid on adopting clean eating habits and maintaining cleanliness in homes and surroundings. Participants, including 15 men, 4 women, and 3 children, took a pledge to uphold cleanliness at home, workplaces, and public areas. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all sections of society, including school children, women, and prominent local social activists. The Indian Army's gesture was warmly appreciated by the villagers, highlighting the growing bond of trust and cooperation between the armed forces and the civilian population. In areas with limited civil administrative reach, such initiatives play a vital role in community development and health promotion. This meaningful outreach once again reflects the Indian Army's commitment to nation-building and improving the quality of life in far-flung areas through people-centric efforts. |
