Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 9: The NSS Unit of Government College of Engineering and Technology (GCET), Jammu, marked the 134th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar with a series of impactful events aimed at honoring the legacy of the principal architect of the Indian Constitution. The commemorative events were held under the leadership of Principal Prof. Sameru Sharma, who spoke on Dr. Ambedkar's immense contributions to social justice, economic reforms, and inclusive growth. She emphasized his role as a nationalist and visionary who tirelessly advocated for the rights of the marginalized. A debate competition on "Role of Constitution in Democracy" brought forward engaging viewpoints from students across engineering disciplines, reflecting on the Constitution's role in upholding democratic values. Another highlight was a poster-making competition themed "Rights and Duties: Two Sides of the Same Coin", showcasing students' creativity and understanding of civic responsibilities. Senior NSS volunteers including Arnav Sharma, Dhanush Dalmotra, Mehak, Vanshika, Aneesh, Anshdeep, Oshan Manhas, Eshwank, Ragav, and Rudhar Gupta were instrumental in organizing the events, guided by NSS Program Officer Dr. Raman Gupta. "Dr. Ambedkar's vision of social justice and economic equality continues to guide our educational efforts," said Dr. Gupta. "Through these initiatives, we aim to instill his values in our students."
