Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 11: Continuing its firm stance under Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu Police has booked another notorious bovine smuggler under the Public Safety Act (PSA). The accused, Mohd Shakoor, son of Mohd Gafoor, a resident of Village Muralian, Miran Sahib, was apprehended by Nagrota Police and the PSA warrant was executed by PSI Sandeep Kumar of Police Station Nagrota. The action, taken under the leadership of SSP Jammu, Sh. Joginder Singh (JKPS), is part of ongoing efforts to curb bovine smuggling and maintain communal harmony. Shakoor had multiple FIRs registered against him and was a repeated offender in bovine smuggling activities, which had caused serious public concern and hurt the sentiments of particular communities. In 2024, four PSA warrants were executed against bovine smugglers and one drug peddler was booked under the PIT NDPS Act in the Nagrota sub-division. In the current year alone, three PSA warrants have already been executed against habitual smugglers, highlighting the commitment of Jammu Police. This recent action was carried out under the close supervision of SHO Nagrota, SDPO Nagrota, and SP Rural Jammu, with strong support from the District Administration. The local public has lauded Jammu Police's relentless efforts and its uncompromising approach in dealing with such threats to peace and lawfulness. |
