Indian Army Distributes Sleeping Bags
4/13/2025 9:43:01 PM
Early Times Report

Rajouri, Apr 13: In a significant step towards community welfare and outreach, the Indian Army organized a special distribution drive to provide sleeping bags to members of the Gujjar and Bakkarwal communities in the Songri area of Mathiyanigala, Rajouri.
The initiative is part of the Army’s continued efforts to support vulnerable and nomadic populations residing in remote and high-altitude regions, where winter conditions can be extremely harsh. The distribution of sleeping bags will not only offer warmth and comfort but also contribute to better health and safety during the cold months.
Highlighting the Indian Army’s dual role in national security and social development, the initiative strengthens the bond between the Army and local communities. It reflects a spirit of inclusivity, trust, and shared responsibility.
The outreach also serves a broader strategic objective—encouraging positive engagement, building resilience within border communities, and deterring the influence of anti-national elements.
By addressing basic needs and fostering goodwill, the Indian Army continues to reaffirm its commitment to the holistic well-being of the people it serves, particularly in difficult and underserved terrains like those in Rajouri district.
