Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 13: Continuing its momentum under the ongoing enforcement initiative Operation Ploughing, Jammu Police - South Zone has intensified its crackdown on illegal activities with significant actions across various sub-units aimed at maintaining law, order, and public safety.
Illegal Mining Busted:
In a major step against illegal mining, the team of Police Post Nehru Market seized a dumper found transporting construction material without proper authorization. The vehicle has been taken into custody and the District Mineral Officer (DMO) has been notified for further necessary action under mining laws.
Arms Recovery & Missing Person Traced - PP Gadigarh:
In another development, Police Post Gadigarh recovered a sharp-edged weapon (Tokka) and registered FIR No. 79/2025 U/S 4/25 Arms Act at Police Station Satwari. Investigations are underway to ascertain the purpose and source of possession.
Additionally, the same police unit successfully traced a missing person and reunited them with their family after completing all legal procedures-an example of the zone's community-centered policing approach.
Road Safety & Preventive Policing:
PP Bhatindi: 3 challans issued under the Motor Vehicles Act.
PP Digiana: 2 traffic challans issued, 1 preventive action initiated.
PP Greater Kailash: 2 individuals found in a drunken state in public places were booked under preventive provisions to maintain peace.
