Kathua, Apr 14: A one-day women’s convention was successfully organized at Village Govindsar in District Kathua. The Convention was organized by Ms Koshar Parveen District President Kathua Women Wing. Mrs Bimla Luthra former MLA and State Vice President Women Wing was the chief guest. Addressing the gathering Mrs Bimla Luthra lauded the role of women in disseminating the party’s policies and vision effectively. She reiterated that the present government, led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, remains steadfast in its commitment to Women empowerment, ensuring their active participation in the decision-making process.She assured the Women workers that all local concerns raised during the convention would be take up the party high command. Mrs Bimla Luthra said that the achievements of Omar led Government in a short span of five months. “Women have received unprecedented attention with initiatives like free travel in government buses, enhancement of Girls marriage assistance Rs 50000/= to Rs 75,000/=, free 200 power units for AAY families, 10 kg free ration per person, per month for AAY families etc. These steps reflect the NC Government’s commitment to women empowerment,”she added. In her welcome address, Ms Koshar Parveen expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mrs Bimla Luthra and all the dignitaries for their presence and support. She highlighted key local demands and issues concerning women and rural development, urging the party leadership to take these forward. She also laid out a proactive roadmap for the upcoming panchayat and urban local bodies polls, encouraging women to participate in democratic processes with strength and unity.
