Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Apr 18: The Progressive Youth Society (Regd.) Ram Nagar, Udhampur, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture under the Repertory Grant Scheme, organized a vibrant cultural programme at Govt. High School Samol, Udhampur. The event was graced by Toshi Devi, Headmaster of the school, who attended as the Chief Guest. The programme began with a warm welcome address by Manoj Kumar Sharma 'Nishchint', President of P.Y.S. It was followed by a series of captivating performances, including soul-stirring songs by Ashok Khanotra, Mohinder Singh 'Sumbria', and Shivam 'Tak', who enthralled the audience with their melodious renditions of songs and bhajans rooted in Dogri culture. Additionally, Lajwanti Devi and her party performed traditional folk songs, including the popular Suhag and Ghodi, which were met with much appreciation from the attendees. The event was coordinated by Ravi Kumar, a teacher at the school. In her address, Toshi Devi commended the efforts of the Progressive Youth Society for their dedication to preserving and promoting the rich Dogri culture, while also providing entertainment and awareness to the local community. |
