Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 24: In keeping with its tradition of love, compassion, and selfless service, the Sant Nirankari Mission observed Manav Ekta Diwas (Human Unity Day) on April 24, 2025. This special day is marked annually in sacred remembrance of Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji and serves as a spiritual confluence of humanity, unity, and peace. The Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation conducted a nationwide blood donation drive, with camps organized across over 500 branches of the Mission throughout India. In Jammu, the Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan in Shastri Nagar hosted the blood donation camp, which was inaugurated by Seema Basin, JKAS Director Finance, Social Welfare Department, Civil Secretariat Jammu. During her address, Basin praised the enthusiastic participation of devotees who voluntarily donated blood, demonstrating their dedication to humanity and selfless service. A total of 217 units of blood were donated in Jammu alone. The Mission's blood donation drive is inspired by the teachings of Yugdrishta Baba Gurbachan Singh Ji, who founded movements to free society from superstitions, promote social harmony, encourage de-addiction, and promote simple, positive living. Carrying forward his legacy, Baba Hardev Singh Ji popularized the powerful message: "Let blood flow in veins, not in drains," making blood donation a vital part of the Sant Nirankari Mission's service. According to Dr. Geetika Duggal, Medical Director of Sant Nirankari Health City, nearly 30,000 units of blood were collected nationwide during the drive, with 1,000 units donated at the Delhi camp alone. Manav Ekta Diwas also commemorates the selfless sacrifices of devoted martyrs such as Chacha Partap Singh Ji and many others who dedicated their lives to the path of unity, service, and spiritual awakening. This day is a tribute to their unwavering faith and commitment to humanity. Ajit Singh, Zonal Incharge Jammu, welcomed attendees, emphasizing that this grand initiative transcends a blood donation drive-it is a living expression of Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj's message of compassion, unity, and service. He reminded everyone that humanity is the supreme religion and encouraged all to continue following the noble path of selfless service and dedication. Dignitaries present at the event included Anu Behl, JKAS Special Secretary to the Govt. Revenue Deptt of Jammu & Kashmir (UT), Dr. Vijay Sahni, Dr. Renu Menia, Dr. Zulfikar, Dr. Rashmika from Blood Bank, GMC Jammu. The camp was organized in collaboration with the Blood & Transfusion Department of Govt. Medical College Jammu and JKSACS. |
