Jammu, Apr 25: Some important resolutions are likely to be passed in the special one-day Assembly session to be convened on April 28 at Jammu. Highly placed sources said that apart from strongly condemning the barbaric terror attack in Pahalgam, the Assembly is likely to pass a resolution to support the steps taken by the Central government against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack. “By convening the special session of the Assembly, the J&K Government wants to give a message to the world that the whole country is united in the fight against terrorism”, sources said. As reported earlier, the Cabient under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, on April 23 had decided to advise the Lieutenant Governor to summon the special session of Legislative Assembly of Jammu and Kashmir on April 28 at Jammu at 10:30 am. The Council of Ministers had convened a crucial meeting in the aftermath of heinous terror attack that occurred in Baisaran, Pahalgam yesterday. The cabinet expressed profound grief and outrage over the tragic loss of innocent lives and the injuries sustained by civilians in this barbaric and cowardly act. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, has summoned the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to convene its session in accordance with Section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019. As per the order issued today by Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, the Legislative Assembly shall meet at Jammu on Monday, the 28th of April, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. “I, Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, do hereby summon the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to meet at Jammu on Monday, the 28th of April, 2025 at 10.30 A.M,”said the Summon. “Accordingly, in terms of rule 3 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, all the Hon’ble Members are requested to kindly attend the Session of the Legislative Assembly on the appointed date, time and place,” said an order issued by Secretary J&K Legislative Assembly. |
