12th results announced, 75% pass: girls outshine boys yet again

Jammu, Apr 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday declared the results of the Higher Secondary Part Two (Class 12) Annual Examination 2025, with an overall pass percentage of 75%. Out of 1,03,308 students who appeared for the examination, 77,311 successfully cleared it.
Girls have once again performed better than boys. The pass percentage among girls stood at 80%, while boys achieved a 69% pass rate. In the distinction category (75% marks and above), 30,622 students were placed, whereas 36,131 students secured first division (60% and above). The number of students who got second division (48% and above) stood at 30,034, and only 74 students passed in the third division.
A total of 970 students failed the examination, and 25,027 students will have to reappear in one or more subjects. The board also reported 42 absentees and 30 examination cancellations. Additionally, 24 students had disputed eligibility and 3 were disqualified.
The Commerce stream recorded the highest pass percentage at 79%, followed by Science at 75% and Arts at 66%.
The top-performing subjects include Persian, Philosophy, Islamic Studies, and Punjabi with pass percentages close to or at 100%. Among vocational courses, Health Care, Automotive, and Beauty & Wellness showed outstanding results with most students achieving first-class marks.
The JKBOSE has congratulated all successful students and encouraged those who have to reappear to prepare well for the supplementary exams.
