Desh Bhagat University celebrates Budh Purnima with Cultural and Spiritual Events on Campus

MANDI GOBINDGARH, May 12: Desh Bhagat University proudly celebrated Budh Purnima, the sacred occasion marking the birth, enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana of Lord Buddha, with great reverence and enthusiasm on its campus today.
The event was inaugurated by Dr Zora Singh, Chancellor, Pro-Chancellor Dr Tajinder Kaur, Dr Virinder Singh adviser to the chancellor, Dr Harsh Sadawarti Vice Chancellor, who highlighted the significance of Lord Buddha's teachings in today's world. The program included chanting of Buddhist hymns, a peace march by students and faculty.
Students presented cultural performances, including traditional dances and a short play on the life of Lord Buddha, which captivated the audience and emphasized the values of peace, compassion, and non-violence.
"The teachings of the Buddha remain timeless," said Dr Harsh Sadwarti. "Incorporating these values in our daily lives can lead to a more compassionate and harmonious society."
The celebration concluded with a meditation session open to all students and staff, promoting mindfulness and inner peace.
Desh Bhagat University remains committed to promoting cultural and spiritual values among its students and continues to organize events that foster community engagement and holistic development.
