Jammu, June 12: Even as Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that the cabinet will soon review the report prepared by a cabinet subcommittee on existing reservation rules, agitating students under the banner of the Open Merit Students Association J&K demanded that all recruitment processes should be stopped till the presentation of the report.
In a statement issued here today, OSMA strongly demands that all recruitment processes be halted immediately until the Reservation Sub-Committee report is submitted, made public, and implemented transparently.
“Implementing policy changes without public disclosure is unacceptable. The Open Merit community will not accept silent decisions made behind closed doors”, agitating students further demanded.
Meanwhile Parliament Member for Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency, and senior National Conference leader Aga Syed Ruhullah, on Thursday said that we should wait for the cabinet review and report on the reservation policy.
Talking to the media, he said

CM Omar Abdullah has said that the cabinet will soon review the report on the existing reservation rules in J&K.
“I met the students. As they are demanding rationalization, I hope the cabinet meets soon and addresses their demands.”
He also said that wherever students need him, he would be with them like before. “The subcommittee has been given a job, and let’s hope the committee addresses the demand.”
“As of now, we should wait. Let the cabinet meet and make the report public,” he added.
As reported earlier, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said that the cabinet will soon review the report prepared by the cabinet subcommittee on the existing reservation rules in J&K.
Omar said that the cabinet meets twice a month, and the next meeting is expected to happen in the coming days. “The report from the cabinet subcommittee will be presented in that meeting and will be discussed thoroughly,” he said.
He also said that whatever development we do is still not enough. Our neighbouring country is trying to disturb peace, so it’s important we focus on growing and improving the region as much as possible,” he added.
