Early Times Report

Jammu, June 18: The Ministry of External Affairs successfully evacuated 110 Indian students, including 90 from the Kashmir Valley, from conflict zones in Iran due to the intensifying Israel-Iran war. The students, studying at Urmia Medical University, crossed into Armenia on Tuesday and are now accommodated in hotels in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. They are expected to arrive in New Delhi soon. Nasir Khuehami, national convenor of the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association, confirmed that the Government of India has arranged free flight tickets for all evacuated students, including connecting flights from Delhi to Srinagar for Kashmiri students. According to the travel itinerary, the students will depart Yerevan Airport at 08:45 hrs on June 18 aboard IndiGo flight 6E 9483, landing in Doha at 14:05 hrs. They will then board IndiGo flight 6E 9487 at 15:05 hrs, arriving at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, around 00:00 hrs.
The Students Association is actively coordinating with authorities to ensure a safe and seamless return for the students. Khuehami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar for their prompt action, adding hope for the swift evacuation of remaining students.
The evacuation has brought significant relief to the families of the students, who have been anxious amid rising tensions in the region. All 110 students, including those from various Indian states, are now safely in Yerevan, with arrangements in place for their return to India.
