6/24/2025 10:43:49 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 24: Taking cognizance of a disturbing video circulating on social media, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu has ordered an enquiry into the public parade of a suspected thief, who was seen tied to the bonnet of a vehicle reportedly belonging to the police.
The viral video shows the individual, allegedly a theft suspect, being paraded through public areas while bound to the bonnet of a moving police vehicle. The incident is said to have occurred under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar Police Station, raising serious concerns over procedural lapses and violation of human rights.
According to an official statement from Jammu Police, the matter is being taken “very seriously.” The enquiry has been entrusted to the SDPO City North, Jammu, who has been directed to submit a detailed report of the incident within a week’s time.
“Jammu Police firmly believes in upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice through lawful procedures,” the statement read. “Any non-professional behaviour or misconduct on the part of police personnel will not be tolerated. Departmental or legal action will be initiated against those found guilty of such delinquent conduct.”
