CB presents chargesheet against notorious fraudsters

Jammu, July 4: Crime Branch has presented charge-sheet against two notorious fraudsters for duping the complainant on pretext of providing job in High Court by posing as employee of Hon’ble High Court and providing fake appointment order falsely claimed to be issued from the office of Registrar General High Court.
Charge-sheet has been filed in the Ld. Passenger Tax Court Jammu against two notorious fraudsters, namely Meharaj-ud-din S/o Ghulam Mohd Wani R/o Wani Mohalla, Pattan Distt Baramulla and Abdul Majid Khan S/o Mohd.Abdullah Khan R/o Kareeri, Pattan, district Baramulla.
The case FIR No. 60/2022 was registered at Police Station Crime Branch (EOW) Jammu on the written complaint of one Tawseef Ahmad Dar of Pulwama, Kashmir, who alleged therein that the above mentioned accused duped him of huge hard earned money on the false promise of arranging job in High Court and provided fake appointment order purported to be of Registrar General High Court. Accused Meharaj-ud-din Wani posed himself as an employee of High Court and also showed fake employee’s identity card.
During the course of in-depth investigation conducted by Inspector Meenu Sharma under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police Crime Jammu Benam Tosh, it transpired that the appointment order and cheater’s identity card were fake and no such order and identity card were issued by any High Court authority. The offense of cheating and forgery was proved against the duo. Both the accused turned out to be notorious fraudsters as one more case was registered against them at Police Station Kareeri, district Baramula, which was proved and challaned in the court of law.
