Reasi, July 23: In a tragic incident, two people lost their lives in a landslide that occurred near Shiv Gufa in Badora area in tehsil Mahore, during the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.
According to information, the victims were sleeping in a tent near the cave when debris from a hill suddenly fell onto the site, burying them underneath. Both individuals died on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Rashpal Singh (26), son of Soba Ram, resident of Tuli Kalawan, Tehsil Chassana, District Reasi, and Ravi Kumar (23), son of Parshottam Kumar, resident of Chenani, District Udhampur.
It is said that the victims were staying at the site as part of preparations for a religious event scheduled to take place at Shiv Gufa Badora. Rashpal Singh was reportedly working as a JCB operator.
Upon receiving information, police rushed to the spot, retrieved the bodies, and have initiated further investigation into the matter. |
