Maulana emerges as indoctrination mastermind, agencies launch hunt for radical preachers
Red Fort Blast

Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 24: In a dramatic escalation of the November 10 Delhi blast investigation, intelligence agencies have begun a massive nationwide sweep to identify religious preachers who have been infiltrating premier professional institutions to indoctrinate impressionable students. This crackdown follows explosive findings that the doctors allegedly behind the deadly car bomb near Red Fort had been systematically radicalised over the past five years.
Top intelligence officials have zeroed in on Maulana Irfan Ahmed, a Shopian-based preacher with suspected direct links to Pakistan-backed terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed, accusing him of masterminding the indoctrination of highly educated young doctors—turning them into what one officer described as “cold-blooded, ideologically programmed killing machines.”
According to investigators, after irrefutable evidence established Maulana Irfan’s role in brainwashing the medical professionals, central agencies launched a sweeping, covert operation to track down similar “travelling preachers” who have been frequenting universities, colleges, and medical campuses with the sinister aim of radicalizing India’s brightest minds.
Fourteen people were killed and over a dozen injured when a Hyundai i20—driven by Umar-un-Nabi, a Kashmiri doctor associated with Faridabad’s Al-Falah University—exploded in a fireball near Delhi’s iconic Red Fort. What initially appeared to be a freak incident soon unravelled into one of the most sophisticated white-collar terror conspiracies unearthed in recent years.
The key accused have now been identified as Muzammil Shakeel Ganai, Adeel Ahmed Rather, Muzaffar Ahmed Rather (absconding abroad), Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, and Shaheen Saeed, a Lucknow resident who taught at Al-Falah University.
Sources revealed that the radicalisation began quietly—when these young men

were studying MBBS or completing internships. Their handlers reportedly began grooming them in 2020, slowly poisoning their minds with extremist ideology and preparing them for suicide missions.
In a shocking detail, investigators uncovered that the accused were shown AI-generated videos depicting fabricated scenes of Muslim genocide—a psychological warfare tactic designed to stoke hatred, manufacture rage, and create loyal recruits for terror groups.
The arrested doctors were allegedly part of a “white-collar” terror module jointly operated by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed and al-Qaeda affiliate Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. The module was discreetly busted just days before the blast, but not before one devastating attack was carried out.
Officials said the radicalisation trail began with Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay, who converted Muzammil Shakeel Ganai into his first recruit after meeting him at Government Medical College, Srinagar, in 2023.
From there, Muzammil allegedly played a crucial role in swelling the terror ranks, recruiting Adeel Ahmed Rather, Umar-un-Nabi, and Shaheen Saeed. Each new recruit deepened the network and accelerated operational planning.
In one of the most disturbing findings yet, investigators disclosed that the module had prepared plans to execute up to 32 car bombings—vehicle-borne IED attacks across Delhi and several other states.
This chilling revelation surfaced just as the J&K Police announced it had cracked the interstate and transnational module. In the crackdown, authorities recovered 2,900 kg of explosive material, including ammonium nitrate—the same ingredient believed to have been used in the Red Fort blast.
The scale, precision, and intent behind the conspiracy have triggered alarm bells in national security circles, prompting a renewed crackdown on extremist networks exploiting India’s educational institutions.
