Operation Sindoor delivered major blow on enemy: IG BSF
Says force thwarted all LoC infiltration attempts

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Dec 1: The Border Security Force’s Kashmir Frontier on Monday said it not only foiled every infiltration attempt along the Line of Control in close coordination with the Army, but also delivered a high-impact offensive through Operation Sindoor, whose first phase in May saw precision fire assaults on Pakistani posts and terror launch pads, inflicting heavy damage.
Addressing the annual press conference at Humhama on the outskirts of Srinagar, IG BSF Kashmir Frontier Ashok Yadav said the force has been effectively dominating 343 km of the LoC in Kashmir in synergy with the Indian Army.
“The year witnessed large number of operational achievements by the force, which were carried out in close coordination and synergy with the army and other sister agencies. BSF along with the army ensured an effective and impactful domination of the LoC, which led to neutralization of all the infiltration attempts made this year from the Kashmir Valley,” IG BSF said.
He said eight infiltrators were killed in four attempts during 2025 as joint teams of the BSF and Army maintained tight surveillance along the frontier.
Calling Operation Sindoor the force’s most remarkable achievement this year, Yadav said the first phase, carried out from May 6 to 10, involved coordinated fire assaults on Pakistani posts and terrorist launching pads.
“BSF units along with the Indian Army had effectively executed fire assaults on Pak posts and terrorist launching pads along the LoC, displaying strong, accurate and professional response. All BSF units of Kashmir Frontier including its Artillery regiments had carried out heavy and accurate

shelling and firing on enemy posts and bunkers, causing huge causality to Pak troops, heavy damage to their forward posts and complete destruction of some of the terrorist’s launching pads along the LoC,” Yadav said. The operation, he added, was highly appreciated by the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Defence Minister, and heads of various security agencies for its effectiveness and execution under challenging terrain and heavy enemy fire.
Yadav said that after the Pahalgam terror attack on tourists, specially trained BSF teams were deployed in the tourist resort of Gulmarg alongside Jammu and Kashmir Police to secure the popular tourist destination.
He added that the BSF also played a major role in ensuring an incident-free Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra this year, providing security in Anantnag, Kulgam, Srinagar and Ganderbal districts.
The senior officer said BSF has also taken a large number of initiatives to improve the defenses and infrastructure at FDLs (forward defence locations) to provide better operational environment and living facilities to Jawans.
“BSF has inducted new surveillance equipment and weaponry, including the improved night surveillance and warfare capabilities, to prepare its troops for emerging challenges along the LoC and hinterland. A lot of emphasis is being given on training of troops on various aspects of domination of LC and emerging challenges of infiltration, BAT action and hostilities by the enemy,” he said.
Reaffirming the force’s commitment to the people of Kashmir, the IG said, “We are always here to serve the people of the Valley. Ensuring their safety and well-being remains our foremost priority.”
