GGM Science College celebrates World Meditation Day with enthusiasm

Jammu, Dec 21: GGM Science College celebrated World Meditation Day on 21st December with great enthusiasm and active participation. The event aimed to highlight the significance of meditation in promoting mental well-being, inner peace, and holistic health.
Shri Shantamanu Ji (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Higher Education Department, J&K Union Territory, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of World Meditation Day and stated that the initiative was started by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who has played a vital role in spreading the practice of meditation to millions of people across the globe.
Ms. Arunima Sinha, Senior Instructor from the Art of Living, served as the Resource Person for the event. She explained the significance of meditation for mental health, inner harmony, and overall well-being. During the session, she guided the participants through various meditation techniques, actively involving the entire audience.
The event was successfully organized under the supervision of Prof. Ravinder Tikoo, Nodal Principal and Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Science College. The meditation session witnessed the participation of Principals, Deans, and faculty members from various colleges of Jammu city and constituent colleges of Cluster University of Jammu.
Shri Harinder Gupta, Convenor LEAD, along with LEAD members Shri Raman Suri, Shri Vikram Gujral, Shri Sanjeev Sharma, Prof Lokinder Singh and Shri Surinder Mohan, were also present on the occasion. The programme was smoothly coordinated by Dr. Revika Arora, while the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Vikram Gujral.
The celebration successfully conveyed the message of peace, mindfulness, and mental wellness through the practice of meditation. After the meditation session, the chief guest visited th ongoing stalls on LEAD mahotsav where the Principal of the college apprised him of the stall installed by GGM Science College on PM Surya Ghar to make the general public aware about the Prime Minister’s scheme on Muft Bijli Yojana.
