Jammu, Dec 27: The spirited cadets of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit of DAV College, Amritsar, spearheaded a comprehensive community awareness campaign in collaboration with Geeta Sewa Samiti, demonstrating leadership and commitment to societal welfare. The campaign saw the participation of approximately 50 dedicated NCC cadets who engaged with residents in and around the college premises. Through a series of interactive activities, the cadets addressed vital themes including public health and hygiene, environmental conservation (with a focus on plastic waste reduction), digital safety and cyber ethics, and the importance of road traffic discipline. The cadets conducted a vibrant awareness rally, performed impactful street plays, and distributed informative pamphlets to drive their message home. The Principal of DAV College, Amritsar, Dr. Amardeep Gupta, commended the efforts of the NCC unit. He stated that Our NCC cadets are the torchbearers of discipline and service. This community outreach initiative perfectly aligns with our college's ethos of holistic education that extends beyond classrooms. They are not just students; they are responsible citizens in the making, actively contributing to nation-building by awakening social consciousness. I am immensely proud of their proactive approach and dedication. The Officer in charge of the NCC unit Dr Kamal Kishore, Prof Sanjeev Dutta, Dr Gaurav Sharma and Dr Sandeep Kumar at the college added that the campaign was designed to translate our cadets' training into tangible social action. It provided them a platform to develop leadership, communication skills, and a deep sense of civic responsibility, which are the core values of the NCC. |
