Early Times Report RAMBAN, Dec 27: In a significant action against organized crime of bovine smuggling and the illegal generation of wealth, Police Station Ramsoo, District Ramban, has attached movable property worth Rs 5,60,497/- under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). The attachment has been effected as part of sustained efforts by Ramban Police to curb bovine smuggling and dismantle the financial networks supporting such organised criminal activities. The action stems from the investigation of FIR No. 63/2025, registered at Police Station Ramsoo under Sections 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (PCA) Act. During the course of investigation, it was revealed that the accused had amassed disproportionate assets through continued involvement in bovine smuggling. Further probe established that a vehicle purchased by the accused was directly linked to the proceeds of crime generated through these illegal activities. Upon confirmation of the facts, Ramsoo Police moved the competent court and obtained formal attachment orders under the relevant provisions of law. In compliance with the court's directions, the vehicle bearing registration number JK02BS-3247 was attached in the presence of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ramsoo, following due legal procedure. The district police remains committed to enforcing the rule of law and safeguarding public interest by targeting the economic roots of organized crime. |
