Reasi, Jan 8: District Police Reasi achieved another success in its ongoing drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse.
Today on 07.01.2026, at about 1640 hours, during special naka checking at Lattori Road, police personnel stopped one individual for routine checking. The person was identified as Anit Sharma S/O Hem Raj/O Kalika Nagar, Lattori, Katra, District Reasi, who was coming from the Katra side and proceeding towards Lattori on foot.
During frisking, 5.240 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 12/2026 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at the concerned police station and further investigation is underway.
The entire operation was carried out by SHO Katra Ranjeet Singh Rao under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Bhishm Dubey and SP Katra Vipan Chandran.
SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh reiterated commitment to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and appeals to the general public to cooperate by sharing any information related to drug peddling or illegal activities. |
