New Delhi, Jan 8: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Thursday chaired the annual meeting of transport Ministers from all States and Union Territories in New Delhi, bringing to deliberate on strengthening India’s transport ecosystem through coordinated and citizen-focused reforms.
Jammu and Kashmir was represented at the meeting by Transport Minister Satish Sharma, who participated in the discussions and shared perspectives on regional transport priorities and challenges.
The high-level meeting witnessed constructive and wide-ranging deliberations on crucial issues such as road safety, passenger and public convenience, ease of doing business in the transport sector, and reforms in automobile regulations. Emphasis was laid on reducing road accidents, improving transport infrastructure, streamlining regulatory processes, and adopting technology-driven solutions to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Later, addressing a press conference, Gadkari said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon formally launch a nationwide cashless treatment scheme for road accident victims across India.
