early times report

Srinagar, Jan 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Media Department today held an important review meeting at the Party Headquarters in Srinagar, with active participation from media representatives of various districts and morchas across the Union Territory.
The meeting was chaired by Adv. Sajid Yousuf Shah, State Co-Media Incharge, Jammu & Kashmir, along with Zaman Noor, Co-Convenor, BJP J&K Media Department. Key attendees included Irfan Sofi, Co-Convenor, J&K Media Relations Department, and State Media Co-Incharges Harbinder Singh (Minority Morcha), Rather Mehraj (Kissan Morcha), Mubeena Akhtar (Mahila Morcha), and Junaid Khatana (ST Morcha).
District Media Incharges Aqib Bashir (Ganderbal), Iqbal Malik (Baramulla), Umer Zahoor (Bandipora), Akash Latif (Anantnag), and Sagar Rafiq (Kupwara) also participated in the meeting.
The meeting focused on strengthening the party’s media coordination and communication strategy in view of the prevailing political climate. Participants deliberated on the adoption of modern media practices, enhancing coordination with print, electronic, and social media platforms, building stronger relationships with journalists, and creating fact-based counter-narratives to effectively counter misinformation campaigns.
Adv. Sajid Yousuf Shah emphasised the importance of upholding the party’s core ideology and maintaining communal harmony in line with the vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas.
He expressed concern over deliberate attempts by certain political elements to spread misinformation regarding development initiatives in Jammu & Kashmir, particularly since the abrogation of Article 370. He urged the media team to counter such narratives responsibly while maintaining the dignity of political discourse.
Zaman Noor highlighted the critical role of the Media Department in presenting the true vision and achievements of the BJP. He termed it deeply unfortunate that some local leaders are attempting to create communal divisions for personal political gains. Noor also referred to recent irresponsible statements by certain local leaders aimed at creating fear among communities through false propaganda.
“Our department must maintain dignified communication standards, unlike the aggressive approach adopted by other parties. BJP is a national party, and we must adhere to the discipline and values set by our high command,” Noor stated.
The meeting also discussed recent controversies allegedly manufactured by certain political parties to mislead the public. During the meeting, the newly appointed State Co-Media Incharges of various morchas were felicitated by the State Media Department in recognition of their new responsibilities.
