IIM Jammu inaugurates Onsite Business Communication & Presentation Skills Programme

BENGALURU, Jan 8: IIM Jammu Inaugurates Onsite Business Communication & Presentation Skills Programme for Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bengaluru, on 07 January 2025. Indian Institute of Management Jammu inaugurated the four-day Onsite Business Communication & Presentation Skills Programme for officials of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at HAL Management Academy, Bengaluru. The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu (Online Mode). Arup Kumar Mallick, Executive Director (ED), HAL Management Academy DPSU graced the inaugural ceremony in person, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu also graced the occasion (Online Mode). Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consulting (EE & C), IIM Jammu, was also present online. Faculty Members - Dr. Gaana J (Program Director) and Dr. Sundar R (Program Director), Dr. Apurva were present in person. Ms Rajashree, Program coordinator, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) also graced the inaugural ceremony Arup Kumar Mallick, Executive Director (ED), HAL Management Academy DPSU, addressed the participants and emphasized the strategic importance of the programme in strengthening leadership capabilities and fostering industry-academia collaboration. He also shared insightful perspectives on Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's illustrious legacy, its pivotal role in nation building, technological excellence, and contribution to India's aerospace and defence ecosystem. He thereafter invited Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu, to deliver his address. Addressing the participants on online mode, Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu reiterated that HAL's contribution to nation building is remarkable and expressed that it is deeply heartening to see IIM Jammu collaborating with the HAL Management Academy at this important stage. He emphasized that such partnerships strengthen national capability development, promote leadership excellence, and reinforce the role of academic institutions in supporting strategic public sector organizations.
He further underscored the importance of continuous learning, innovation-driven leadership, and knowledge co-creation in building globally competitive public sector enterprises.
Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu highlighted that the programme has been uniquely designed by integrating best practices from leading academic institutions and contemporary industry frameworks. He emphasized the discussion-driven and dialectic learning approach, enabling participants to co-create knowledge and translate insights into organizational impact. He further noted that the programme will foster strategic thinking, collaborative learning, and practical application aligned with evolving leadership and communication demands.
Prof. Sanjeev Pathak, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu reiterated that IIM Jammu looks forward to building a long-term and sustainable partnership with Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. He emphasized that executive education and consulting initiatives play a vital role in strengthening industry-academia collaboration and creating continuous value for organizations navigating complex business and technological transformations.
