J&K Sub Junior Taekwondo team screened, flagged off for National Championships

JAMMU, Jan 10: The J&K Sub Junior Taekwondo Team was successfully screened by the J&K Sports Council today at the Taekwondo Training Centre, M.A. Stadium, Jammu, ahead of their participation in the 39th National Sub Junior Kyorugi and 14th National Sub Junior Poomsae Taekwondo Championships 2025-26, scheduled to be held from 13th to 15th January 2026 at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi.
The screening and flag-off ceremony was conducted in the august presence of Shri Iqbal Singh, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K Sports Council, Jammu, who interacted with the players and appreciated their dedication and discipline. He extended his best wishes to the contingent for a strong performance at the national platform.
The ceremony was further graced by Mr. Anuj Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA), and Mr. Atul Pangotra, International Taekwondo Player & Coach, who motivated the young athletes and encouraged them to represent Jammu & Kashmir with pride and sportsmanship.
The selected players for the championship include:
Boys: Shivaay Gupta, Abhay Partap, Divyansh Khametra, Yakshit Thakur, Mirgesh Spolia, Samrat Singh, Syed Kashif Hussain, Rehaan Gupta, Tajdeep Singh
Girls: Rudrakshi, Saavi Sharma, Pranshi Sharma, Syed Imrat Jaan, Kiana Upadhyaya and Namanya Varma
The team will be accompanied by the following officials: Mr. Amit Kumar, Mr. Syed Ashiq Hussain, and Mrs. Kausar Jaan, who will serve as coaches and managers for the contingent. The J&K Taekwondo Association and J&K Sports Council expressed confidence in the team's preparation and hoped for an excellent medal-winning performance at the national championships.
