SKUAST-Jammu Students Shine at 3rd Chancellor’s Trophy 2026

Jammu, Jan 22: Under the dynamic leadership of Prof. B. N. Tripathi, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, and the able guidance of Prof. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Dean Students’ Welfare, a contingent of 45 students from Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) participated in the 3rd Chancellor’s Trophy 2026, held at the University of Jammu from 15th to 19th January 2026.
The students showcased commendable sportsmanship and competitive spirit across various disciplines. The contingent included 15 male students in Football, 10 male students in Kabaddi, 3 girls in Badminton, 3 male students in Table Tennis, 5 male students in Athletics, and 9 male students in Basketball. All events were contested under the overall guidance of the Dean Students’ Welfare, Prof. Sudhakar Dwivedi.
The SKUAST-Jammu contingent was accompanied by Physical Instructors Mr. Neeraj Gupta and Mr. Kuldeep Manhas, who were designated as official instructors for the tournament and played a key role in mentoring and motivating the students throughout the event.
Adding to the university’s pride, students delivered notable performances in Athletics. Shivyankar secured a Bronze Medal in the 100 metres, while Vansh Tripathi won a Silver Medal in the 400 metres, bringing laurels to SKUAST-Jammu.
Prof. B. N. Tripathi, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, congratulated the participating students and medal winners for their achievements and emphasized the university’s commitment to promoting sports alongside academics for holistic student development. Prof. Sudhakar Dwivedi also appreciated the efforts of the student athletes and the accompanying staff, stating that such platforms nurture discipline, leadership, and teamwork among youth.
The university fraternity extended best wishes to all participants for their future sporting endeavors and reaffirmed its resolve to encourage greater participation in inter-university sports competitions.
