Ramgarh, Jan 22: Government Degree College Ramgarh organized a documentary screening on the Evolution and Historical Significance of Vande Mataram as part of Phase II celebrations commemorating 150 years of National Pride – Vande Mataram. The programme aimed to sensitize students about the historical roots, cultural importance, and national relevance of the iconic national song. The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Snobar, Associate Professor Department of Punjabi. The documentary traced the origin of Vande Mataram, its literary and historical significance, and its powerful impact during the Indian independence movement. It showcased how the song became a source of inspiration for freedom fighters and continues to symbolize devotion, sacrifice, and unity among the people of India. The screening served as an important educational initiative to deepen students’ understanding of India’s rich freedom struggle and the role of cultural expressions in shaping national consciousness. It also highlighted the relevance of Vande Mataram in contemporary times as a symbol of unity in diversity and national pride. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Shivali Panjgotra, Dr. Neha Bharti, and Dr. Bisat Tariq, with active support from faculty members including Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Mr. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Brham Dutt, Mr. Darpan Malhotra, Dr. Susheel Kumar, and Dr. Shaqeeb. The documentary screening witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the college. An interactive discussion following the screening encouraged students to reflect on the enduring relevance of Vande Mataram.
