| Police Jammu registered FIR against house owners for violating tenant Verification Order | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 22: On 22-01-2026 an information was received at Police Station R.S Pura that 03 house owners had accommodated tenants in their huts (juggies) without conducting their mandatory police verification. This act is in clear violation of the directions issued by the District Magistrate Jammu, which mandate all landlords to verify their tenants at the concerned police station before allowing them to stay.
During preliminary enquiry, it was found that the accused, 1.Hukumat Raj S/o Ram Chand R/o Rangpur Sadhrey Tehsil Suchetgarh District Jammu & 2.Kamal Singh S/o Karnail Chand R/o Flora Tehsil Suchetgarh District 3.Raj Kumar S/o Sita Ram R/o Rangpur Basti Tehsil Suchetgarh District Jammu had rented out his property i.e. Juggies to multiple tenants out side the U T without submitting their verification details at the police station.
Accordingly, FIR has been registered under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Police Station R.S Pura. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
The general public is once again requested to strictly adhere to the tenant verification guidelines issued by the District Magistrate. Non-compliance will invite strict legal action under relevant provisions of law.
