DFCCIL, Northern Railway conduct joint inspection of New Dadri-Rewari-Ateli section

NEW DELHI, Jan 22: DFCCIL - Senior officials of Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) and Northern Railway jointly conducted an inspection of the New Dadri-Rewari-Ateli section on Wednesday. During the visit, the officials reviewed technical and operational aspects related to train operations. Operational capacities on the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) were also assessed, and future connectivity plans were discussed.
The joint inspection was led by Shobhit Bhatnagar, Director (Operations & Business Development), DFCCIL, and Dr. Monica Agnihotri, Principal Chief Operations Manager, Northern Railway. Senior officials present included Nitin Bansal, Group General Manager (Operations & Business Development), DFCCIL; A.K. Shamsi, Chief Freight Traffic Manager, Northern Railway; and Vikas Vats, Senior Divisional Operations Manager, Delhi Division/Northern Railway, among others.
During the inspection, officials examined infrastructure from New Dadri to Ateli. Safety arrangements and functionality of viaducts and tunnels were assessed. The team inspected facilities at New Dadri Station and evaluated loading-unloading capacity at the Khatuwas CONCOR Siding (CMLK) of Container Corporation of India Limited. Additionally, the feasibility of New Rewari-Kumbhawas connectivity was assessed. Officials also inspected the New Ateli Running Room and studied the technical feasibility of rail linking between New Rewari and Kumbhawas.
Discussions were also held on future connectivity and operational integration possibilities among Haryana Orbital Rail Corporation (HORC), the Dedicated Freight Corridor, and Northern Railway. These initiatives are expected to boost regional industrial development and help reduce traffic congestion in the NCR region
