Inter-agency joint security review meeting held ahead of Republic Day-2026 celebrations

REASI, Jan 22: Ahead of the forthcoming Republic Day-2026 and in view of the prevailing security scenario, a high-level Joint Security Reivew Meeting of twin districts was conducted on 22.01.2026 at Police Station Pouni. The meeting was jointly chaired by Sarah Rizvi, IPS, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range and Tejinder Singh, IPS, DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, reaffirming the unwavering resolve of security agencies to ensure a peaceful, incident-free and secure Republic Day celebration.
The meeting witnessed the participation of senior officers from Police, Army and CAPFs, including Himanshu Kumar, DIG CRPF; Gaurav Sikarwar, IPS, SSP Rajouri; Paramvir Singh, JKPS, SSP Reasi; Manoj Verma, CO CRPF 126 Bn; Jitender Kumar yadav, CO CRPF 72 Bn; Col. Madhu Sudan, CO Army 63 RR; Iftkhar Ahmed, JKPS, Addl. SP Reasi; Neeraj Sharma, 2 I/C CRPF 72 Bn; Prob. IPS Gaurav Tripathi, Coy Commander CRPF; Surinder Mohan, JKPS, Dy.SP PC Kalakote; Inspr. Rajiv Kumar, SHO P/S Sunderbani; and Inspr. Sumit magotra, SHO P/S Pouni, among others.
During the deliberations, strong emphasis was laid on daily intelligence sharing, seamless inter-agency coordination to decisively counter militancy and anti-national activities. The chair stressed the need for robust area domination, heightened surveillance, intensified intelligence generation and swift information exchange among all stakeholders.
All participating officers were directed to activate their respective resources and ground networks to generate actionable intelligence, ensuring that anti-national and anti-social elements are neutralized well in time and fail in their nefarious designs.
The officers were also asked to maintain a high state of alertness and preparedness to guarantee the smooth, peaceful and dignified conduct of Republic Day-2026 across the region.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment by all forces to work in close coordination, uphold public safety and reinforce the security grid, reflecting a united front against any threat to peace and national integrity.
