Voter's Awareness Mass Rally organised by Higher Education Department

JAMMU, Jan 24: As part of Phase-II celebrations commemorating 150 Years of National Pride, the Vande Mataram Programme was observed from January 19 to January 26, 2026. In continuation of these celebrations, a District-level Voters' Awareness Mass Rally was organised on January 24, 2026 by the Higher Education Department, in collaboration with the Chief Electoral Office, Jammu & Kashmir, to promote voter awareness and democratic participation. The rally witnessed active participation of 65 NSS Volunteers from NSS Unit-1 and Unit-2 and 25 NCC Cadets from 9 JK Girls Battalion NCC, 10 Cadets of 1 JK Naval Unit, PSPS GCW Gandhi Nagar, Jammu , took part in the event, highlighting unity and coordinated efforts among various youth organisations.
The programme was conducted under the patronage of the worthy Principal, Dr Kulvinder Kour, whose guidance and support were instrumental in the successful organisation of the event. Major (prof.)Shivani Sharma guided the NCC Cadets, while Dr Monika Hans and Dr Suraj Mohani Jamwal, NSS Programme Officers, guided the NSS Volunteers. The Naval Unit Cadets participated under the guidance of ANO Dr Rachna Devi.
Faculty members including Dr Arjun Kotwal, Prof Paramjeet, Prof Abhinav, PTI Kajal, and Dr Priyanka , Prof Vikas also participated in the rally and extended their support to the voter awareness campaign.
The rally aimed at sensitising the public, especially youth, about the importance of voting in a democratic setup and encouraged responsible citizenship. The event successfully reinforced the spirit of patriotism, national pride, and democratic values among the participants and the general public.
