Balbir, Rakesh Pant discuss teachings of Guru Ravidass
1/24/2026 10:23:33 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 24: Balbir Ram Rattan, National General Secretary of British Ravidasia Heritage Foundation, Indian Branch, said that the core message of Guru Ravidass was the equality of all human beings and the rejection of discrimination in every form.
He said this during his discussion on life and teachings of Guru Ravidass with Rakesh Pant, BJP Kissan Morcha President.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that Guru ji's philosophy continues to inspire movements for social justice, dignity, and inclusive development. Guru Ravidass, the revered 15th-century spiritual leader and poet, fearlessly challenged the rigid caste system and social hierarchies of his time. Through his teachings and devotional hymns, he conveyed that every individual is equal in the eyes of the Divine, regardless of birth, status, or occupation. His words stressed that true spirituality lies in purity of heart, selfless service, and compassion for others.
Balbir further pointed that Guru Ravidass's vision of Begumpura, a society free from sorrow, fear, and inequality, remains deeply relevant in the modern world. "Guru Ravidass gave humanity a powerful blueprint for a just society," Balbir said. He taught us that no one is high or low, and that human dignity must be the foundation of social progress.
Balbir further emphasized that Guru Ravidass's teachings go beyond religious boundaries and belong to all of humanity. His message was universal, which called for love over hatred, service over ego, and unity over division.
Rakesh Pant was of the view that Guru Ravidass's teachings are not just spiritual guidelines but also a call for social transformation. He said that the saint's emphasis on equality and human dignity remains extremely relevant, especially in the context of modern social issues like discrimination, exclusion, and inequality. Pant stressed that Guru Ravidass taught that true devotion is not confined to rituals but is reflected in the way we treat others.
He added that Guru Ravidass's teachings inspire people to fight against injustice and work towards a more inclusive society. Pant believes that the vision of Begumpura can only be achieved through collective efforts, where communities unite to eradicate social divisions.
