Jammu, Jan 24: Vishwa Bharati Higher Secondary School Akalpur Morh Jammu celebrated 77th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The school campus was beautifully adorned with tricolors, buntings and patriotic decorations creating a festive atmosphere.
The Chief Guest of the occasion was Captain (IN) Shibu Devasia, Principal Sainik School Nagrota who graced the occasion along with Dr. S.K. Koul, President Vishwa Bharati Women’s Welfare Institution, Sh. Yoginder Koul, Treasurer Vishwa Bharati, Prof. A.N. Sadhu, Chairman Academic Committee, Sh. R.K.Saproo Member Vishwa Bharati, Shri V.K. Dembi, Member Vishwa Bharati, Mrs. Annapurna Koul, Principal Vishwa Bharati Hr. Sec. School, teachers and students. The programme, compared by class 11th students, commenced with ‘Welcome Speech’ by the School Principal Mrs. Annapurna Koul in the hounour of all invited guests and dignitaries.
A melodious welcome song was sung by the students of class 5th to greet all the dignitaries and specially invited guests.
The celebration included a colourful cultural program showcasing the rich and diverse heritage of India. Students presented patriotic songs, dances and skits captivating the audience with their talent and dedication. The beautiful culture items “Yeh Desh hai Veer Jawano Ka”, “Aisa Desh hai Mera” and “Ek Tera naam hai Sacha” enthralled everyone. Some students delivered eloquent speeches on the importance of India being a Republic and the contribution of all those patriots who paved a way for it.
The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of upholding the values enshrined in the Constitution of India and the responsibility of every citizen to contribute to the nation’s further progress. He also asserted on the corporation and collaboration between Sainik School and Vishwa Bharati in the field of games and sports for the holistic development of the students.
Prof. A.N. Sadhu, Chairman Academic Committee also addressed the audience by highlighting the significance of Republic Day and encouraged the students to strive for excellence and contribute to the nation’s further development.
The whole event concluded with a vote of thanks by Master Praduman Parihar, Head Boy and singing of the National Anthem, leaving everyone with a sense of pride and patriotism.
