Reasi police solve motorcycle theft case; two stolen bikes recovered

REASI, Feb 6: District Police Reasi achieved a significant breakthrough in a motorcycle theft case reported at Police Station Katra. A complaint was lodged at P/S Katra by Vijay Kumar S/O Krishan Lal R/O Marta, Tehsil Ramnagar, District Udhampur, regarding the theft of his motorcycle by some unknown person. Acting promptly on the complaint, Case FIR No. 16/2026 under Section 303(2) BNS was registered and investigation was set into motion. During the course of investigation, several suspects were rounded up for questioning. One suspect namely Rahul Kumar S/O Sham Lal R/O Sirla Bhaga, Tehsil & District Reasi, was apprehended. Upon sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed his involvement in the instant case. On his disclosure, the stolen motorcycle bearing Registration No. JK14 E 1734 was successfully recovered. Further questioning of the accused led to the recovery of another stolen motorcycle bearing Registration No. JK20 B 8113. The accused has been taken into custody and further investigation is underway to ascertain his involvement in other theft cases, if any. The whole operation was carried out by SHO P/S Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS and SP Katra Vipan Chandran, JKPS. SSP Reasi Paramvir Singh-JKPS reiterated that District Police Reasi remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the public and appeals to citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
