Five-day bootcamp on blockchain technology concludes successfully

JAMMU, Feb 21: Govt. Sri Pratap Memorial Rajput College of Commerce, Jammu, successfully concluded a Five-Day Bootcamp on "Blockchain Technology" organized in collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), J&K, under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, from 16th to 20th February 2026.
The bootcamp was conducted with the objective of re-skilling and up-skilling students in emerging digital technologies and enhancing their employability in the field of blockchain and decentralized systems.
The programme commenced with a formal inaugural session in the presence of the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Gupta, along with senior officials from NIELIT J&K, including Sh. Rajnesh Raina, Joint Director & Officer-In-Charge, NIELIT Jammu, and Dr. Fayaz Ahmad Fayaz, Joint Director (Scientist-D) & Chief Investigator of the Project. The dignitaries emphasized on the importance of industry-academia collaboration and the growing relevance of blockchain technology in governance, finance, cybersecurity, and digital innovation.
During the five days of intensive training, participants were introduced to blockchain fundamentals, cryptography, consensus mechanisms such as Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, Ethereum concepts, private blockchain frameworks, and smart contract development using Remix IDE. The programme combined theoretical sessions with extensive hands-on training, mini-project development, and practical demonstrations. More than 150 participants successfully completed the programme by actively participating in the sessions. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Gupta, Principal of the College, highlighted that the programmewhich promotes skill-based, industry-oriented learning in emerging technological domains is the need of the hour. He further congratulated the organising committee for conducting such programme.
The valedictory function was held on 20th February 2026 where certificates were distributed to the participants. On the occasion, the Nodal Officer, Prof. Binny Kumar, presented a brief report highlighting the objectives, day-wise activities, participation statistics, and overall impact of the five-day bootcamp.During the sessions, student presentations and feedback reflected meaningful learning outcomes and enhanced technical competence.
Prominent among those present were Dr. Reena Rani, Dr. Mohd. Azam,Dr. Ashraf Nawaz,Prof. Sanjeev Verma, Dr. Jagmeet Kaur, Dr. Roomi Rani and Prof. Khalid Hussain. The proceedings of the valedictory function was conducted by Dr. Fayza and the formal vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Mohd. Azam.
