Early Times Report POONCH, Feb 23: Indian Army organized a lecture on women empowerment at Khanetar on 23 February 2026, aiming to educate and raise awareness about various women empowerment schemes in rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The lecture emphasized the importance of women's empowerment for a better future, highlighting that empowering women is key to empowering society. Several initiatives by the Government of India, such as the National Policy of Education, Mahila Samakhya, National Commission for Women, Balika Samridhi Yojana, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, National Programme for Education of Girls at Elementary Level, Swayam Sidha Women Empowerment Programme and Rashtriya Mahila Kosh, were discussed. Special focus was given to encouraging women's participation in the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) through various schemes. The women expressed their gratitude for the Army's efforts, noting that such lectures provided them with valuable knowledge, which will help enhance their vision and improve their standard of living in the long term. |
