Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 23: The Indian Institute of Management Jammu inaugurated the Young Officer Development Program for participants from NHPC, a Government of India Navratna Enterprise, at its Jagti Campus on 23rd Feb 2026.The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu. Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu, along with Program Directors Dr. Guangpuanang Kahmei and Dr. Lalit Pankaj, graced the occasion. The programme commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and the beginning of a transformative learning journey at IIM Jammu. The programme brings together 20 officials from NHPC for an intensive learning experience designed to enhance leadership capability, strategic thinking, and sectoral understanding. Addressing the participants, Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, emphasized the significance of the energy sector as the backbone of any economy and highlighted NHPC's role as a green organization with a vital national responsibility. He encouraged participants to think beyond conventional perspectives, engage in cross-fertilization of knowledge, and actively participate in discussions. He urged them to make full use of the academic ecosystem, library resources, and green campus environment of IIM Jammu, describing the one week as a rare opportunity to live the student life and return with a renewed outlook and enriched knowledge. Prof. Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu described each executive programme as a reflection of "Mini India," bringing together diverse experiences and perspectives. He acknowledged NHPC as a highly respected organization and underscored the importance of co-learning, cross-learning, and collaborative engagement throughout the programme. Dr. Guangpuanang Kahmei, Program Director, IIM Jammu outlined the academic roadmap for the week, highlighting sessions on strategic thinking, conflict management, high-performance teams, emerging trends, and the future of work in the power sector. He encouraged participants to engage wholeheartedly and contribute to meaningful dialogue. Dr. Lalit Pankaj, Program Director, IIM Jammu, delivered the vote of thanks and expressed confidence that the energy and enthusiasm would continue throughout the week, enabling participants to create lasting memories and meaningful professional growth. The inaugural ceremony culminated with the national anthem. |
